5 Summer decoration ideas that you will love!

Summer is the ideal time to renew your space. With a few small changes in colors and wallpapers you can turn your home into the cottage you have always wanted.

Below we suggest you modern decoration ideas that will impress your guests this summer!

1. Floral Prints

Floral patterns are the absolute trend of the season. If you are thinking of incorporating this modern touch into your space, summer is the perfect time. If you are adventurous, you can add a floral wallpaper to your home. Otherwise you can incorporate it more discreetly, maybe a floral bath curtain or floral decorative pillows.

2. Bronze Tones

The copper metallic finish can work in both vintage and industrial spaces and immediately adds a touch of glam. You can incorporate the copper color using candlesticks, tables and kitchen accessories.

3. Bright green

The green color exudes an air of freshness and renewal and can easily make your home look renovated and refreshed. Paint a wall or paint a piece of furniture in a bright cypress color and turn your space into a source of inspiration and beauty.

4. Mixed Prints
The trend of mix print has existed for years now but it is time to integrate it in your space. Use bright colors like red and orange and combine with striped shapes and bold black and white patterns.

5. Animal Print

Adopt the safari style by adding animal print details throughout the house. Just be sure to keep it quiet and simple because it is a wild design that can easily be overloaded. For example, you can use a nice animal print mat or decorative pillows.

The best colors combinations for your living room

The best colors combinations for your living room

The right color scheme can completely form a room, adding a sense of calm and serenity, or drama and intensity. The living room is usually the largest and busiest area of our house. That’s why it’s quite important to decorate it properly.

Coral and Mint

The soft color of mint is an ideal choice for the walls of a living room, as it will illuminate the space and give a spring mood. If you combine it with some coral touches and some aged furniture, you can add a retro look to your living room.

Blue and Green

Two seemingly unmatched colors, but under the right conditions can create a very beautiful space, full of vitality. Whether you choose soft, darker tones, paint the walls, or simply decorate with these colors, you will surely create a unique living room.

Orange and Turquoise

Orange and turquoise are one of my favorite combinations. Two explosive colors that if combined correctly the result is unique.

Bordeaux and Grey

Bordeaux can give a touch of elegance to your living room. You can combine it with either open shades of grey or more intense. In both cases the result will surprise you.

White and Blue

Paint or decorate your living room in blue and white tones, so you can have summer mood all year round

10 Summer Decor Trends

Summer is the perfect time to give your home a facelift. From bold colors to splashy prints, a few easy decor updates can make your home feel like the tropical beach or calming lake cottage you pine for.

Floral Prints

Florals are so hot right now. If you’ve been considering incorporating this trendy look into your home, summer is the perfect time to leap. From wallpaper to shower curtains to the throw pillows seen in this colorful room, it’s easy to add a pop of nature to any room in your house. Bonus: You won’t have to worry about keeping these flowers alive.

Copper(tone)

This year is all about copper. This metal finish can work in both vintage and industrial spaces and instantly adds a touch of glam. This bedroom from Forrest Glover Design incorporates a copper industrial pendant lamp and a chic side table to give the room effortless “oomph.” Candleholders, coffee tables, and kitchen accessories are all easy ways to get this trendy look right now.

Green Goddess

Ever since Pantone named Greenery the color of 2017, we’ve been gaga for green. The color green evokes freshness and renewal, and can easily make your home feel brand new. Paint a wall or restore an old vanity as this blogger did, and you’ll feel like you’re rolling in summery hills all season long.

Animal Print

A little zebra print goes a long way. Channel an African safari and add a few animal print details throughout your home this summer. Some people shy away from this wild design, but as long as you keep it simple with a detailed rug or a fancy throw, you can incorporate it in a myriad of decor styles.

Climbing Plants

According to Pinterest trend data, climbing plants are huge this year. You’re probably innately familiar with this look outside on pergolas, but a winding, twisty plant can look super chic indoors as well. This living room from Decoholic creatively uses a winding plant as art behind the couch. It can be hard to train plants to grow the right way, but a plant like an ivy tree can create a super cool jungle-feel in any room.

Terracotta and Ceramics

This year is all about rustic chic, and terracotta is a great way to incorporate this trend into your house. This gorgeous kitchen has terracotta flooring, but for a less permanent solution don’t be scared to bring terracotta planters indoors. They’ll give a fresh, garden-y feeling to your living room or kitchen.

Mixed Prints

The mixed print trend has been around for a few years now, but it’s time to really embrace it. The fun pops of reds and oranges in this living room really liven the space up and the asymmetrical prints don’t look off balance. Try to keep the color scheme similar (or throw in a black and white patterned piece like this rug) to keep the mixed prints purposeful and chic.

Moroccan

This is another trend that has been around for a while but isn’t going anywhere. The sun may be blistering outside, but you can enjoy a desert-inspired look inside in the comfort of your air conditioning. These poofs are a perfect way to add a bit of souk-inspired glam (and additional seating space!) to your living room. We also love Moroccan lanterns; hang them on your porch or sunroom for an instant exotic flair.

Butterflies

They may seem too whimsical at first glance, but trust us–butterflies are in. From wallpaper to rugs, the butterfly pattern is trendy and super cute. This amazing butterfly print is a tame way to get the look without going overboard. Hang these over your couch, your bed or even in a large master bathroom to add a bit of nature to your space.

Outdoor Lights

Admit it–you’ve been to a bar, a restaurant or even a wedding that had string lights everywhere. These country fair-inspired globe lights are super cozy and very on-trend. Hang them on a deck like this blogger did or try an indoor version in a kid’s room or a cozy reading nook.

Color Matching

Color Matching: Combination of the colors of the furniture and the floor

Make sure your floor color is two shades lighter or much darker than the color of the furnishings. Flooring and furnishings of the same color and wood can be combined if you put a carpet in a different contrasting color between them. On a neutral floor, for example, natural oiled oak, do not be afraid to use dark wood furnishings such as wenge or walnut. Very attractive is the light furnishings with white varnish. Furnishings in light wood combined with light-colored walls and light-colored floors create a relaxed home atmosphere. This is a safe approach, but you may end up with a dull interior. Many simultaneous color tones can become monotonous.

What mood creates a particular floor color?

• Floors with yellowish beige color. The yellowish beige colors are warm, comfortable and create a sense of optimism. Floors with oak, beech or maple design make the darker room warmer.

• Red-orange floors These floors give a warm feel to the room. This color is often combined with stunning yellow accessories.

• Brown floors A brown color, especially for floors, points to our relationship with the earth. Compared with the walls, it must always remain in the background. Coffee is made up of many other colors, which means it can be combined with many other colors. Coffee is not a dull color. It is handy and suitable for different interiors, as long as the light in the room is enough and highlights the brown color. In some interiors, complementary colors for the floor and walls are combined to create contrast. In other cases, a combination of tones is preferred. Combining tones means combining dark and light shades of the same color. This can create very harmonious and calm effects, however, it can become monotonous.

How to combine colorful floors with walls and furnishings

Types of tropical wood produce very warm floors. For example, merbau, afzelia doussie, natural varnished Quick-Step teak etc. These types of wood are very lively and for this reason, it can be difficult to combine with the furniture and the lining of the wall.

Tip: Keep the walls warm and neutral, eg in off-white shades. This creates an attractive contrast to the floor. Do not overdo it with contrast effects and use at most one or two different colors.
