Trends of Tiles for 2019

One of the tile’s best features is its huge variety. You can find and choose a tile for every taste, even for those who don’t like the decorative use of it. In recent years tile companies have evolved their products, providing in addition to the known rectangles we know and love, tiles in unexpected shapes, colors and texture. If the use of tiles has taught us something, it is that fitting it can make wonderful things for a room.

Here are some elegant tiles, which are meant to become our favorites for 2019:

Lepidoptera or scaly

Hexagons and other corner tiles were a big trend last year, but in 2019 it seems to be the year of fish. Known as fish tiles or mermaid tiles, they have a curved pattern, fluid form and create a mosaic that resembles scales and turns any surface into a work of art. They are a special way to change the image of any room, from the bathroom to the living room or the kitchen, giving each one an exotic character and enlarging their size.

Dark Marble

If you are bored of the white marble with the gray waves that appear to be present everywhere, we have some good news for you; Dark, earthy colors will be dominant this year. They are going to appear in tiles in the form of black and dark brown marble. These unexpected shades offer luxury and save maintenance problems associated with white and light marble.

Large sizes

Large-sized tiles will be … big this year! In 2019 when referring to large tiles we mean fewer lines and open of other design possibilities. For example, they can be used on benches and furniture or in the form of a wood or marble so they look more realistic.

…but also very thin

Designers also expect the tile to shrink this year. These narrow tiles are offered for unexpected drawings such as fishponds or vertical stacks.

Hand-painted

If you love patterns of tiles, you might want to go one step further with hand-painted tiles. Extremely luxurious, they have an indisputable charm that gives the place a truly unique look.

Matte texture

The matte texture has been a trend for several years now and has now reached the tiles. Matte textures allow shape and color to come in focus. They also add elegance and simplicity to the room, but they also make a beautiful contrast to metal parts.

Wood appearance Tile makers are becoming better at making tiles that realistically mimic the wood. These tiles come in large boards, such as hardwood. They are ideal for lounges, kitchens, and bathrooms where you want the warmth of the wood, but especially the durability of the tile.

Melanolithos – basalt This volcanic stone, which usually comes in shades of gray, has natural tonal changes and a slightly rough texture. Color uniformity and endless finishing capabilities make it ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications (swimming pool lining) as well as wall and floor coverings
